The 3474 is a widely used universal sheet in A4: 24 labels of 70 × 37 mm arranged in 3 columns and 8 rows, with no gaps between them or at the sides. It is a very versatile size: it holds the product name, a large price and an EAN-13 barcode with comfortable bars.

Measured with this same tool and its sample template for this sheet; the result with your text and your code may vary a little. “Module” is the width of the thinnest bar; the recommended one is 0.33 mm for EAN-13 and 0.25 mm for Code 128.
When printing this sheet
It is a sheet die-cut practically edge to edge: 0 mm at the sides and only 0.5 mm at the top and bottom. Many home printers can't reach the edge of the paper (they usually leave a few millimetres unprinted). That is why the design keeps a 2 mm inner margin, and you should print the Test sheet on plain paper first. If your printer clips the corners, try the Avery L7160, which does leave margins.

Frequently asked questions
Which barcode fits on a 3474 label?
An EAN-13 fits with room to spare: a 0.55 mm module (the recommended one is 0.33 mm) and about 15 mm of bar height even with a name, price and reference; without text, the bars rise to over 28 mm. A short Code 128 (module of about 0.42 mm) and a QR almost 3 cm on a side also fit.
Does the 3474 have margins?
No: the labels cover the whole A4 sheet. You need a printer that prints close to the edge, or a larger inner margin in the design (step 2). The Test sheet helps you check before you waste an adhesive sheet.
Is the 3474 the same as the 3422?
No. Both are 70 mm wide, but the 3474 is 37 mm tall and leaves almost no margin, while the 3422 is 35 mm tall and leaves 8.5 mm of margin at the top and bottom. Choose the model you have in the tool.
Can I use another brand with the same measurements?
Yes: if your sheet is 70 × 37 mm, 3 columns by 8 rows and without gaps, the template works for you. Always check the size and the number of labels on the packaging.
