About GeneraEtiquetas

GeneraEtiquetas is a free tool to make print-ready labels and barcodes, and it runs entirely in your browser.

What it does

It generates EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, Code 128, Code 39, ITF-14 and QR codes; calculates the check digit and warns you when a code is not valid, and downloads an exact-millimetre PDF for the most common adhesive label sheets (Avery Zweckform and Avery in A4 and Letter), for thermal-printer rolls or for a custom grid. You can also download each label as PNG or SVG and create hundreds at once from Excel or CSV.

Why it is private

Your product lists, prices, logos and designs are not sent to any server: everything is processed on your device, and the files are generated there. You can save your designs to a file on your computer. Visits are only measured in aggregate, and only if you accept analytics cookies. The details are in the privacy policy.

How it is funded

Using it is free and doesn't ask for sign-up. The site will be funded by advertising, shown in slots clearly separated from the tool. We don't sell your data, because we don't have it.

Where the measurements and codes come from

• Sheet measurements: compiled from manufacturers' public information and shown as approximate. That is why we offer a Test sheet and a fine adjustment in millimetres, so you can check your printer before wasting adhesive sheets.
• Barcodes: they follow the standard structure of each format, including the GS1 check digit calculation, and have been checked by reading them with barcode readers in automated tests.
• Real EAN codes: generating an EAN with a correct format is not the same as having it registered. Globally unique codes are assigned by GS1; we explain it in the frequently asked questions.

Who is behind it

GeneraEtiquetas is an independent project by Miguel Ángel Rosingana Martin, in Salamanca, Spain. We are not affiliated with Avery, Avery Zweckform, GS1 or any other brand mentioned, which are named only to indicate measurement or format compatibility.

Errors and suggestions

If you find an incorrect measurement, want us to add a sheet model or a format, or something doesn't work as you expect, write to us from the contact page. Corrections to measurements are especially welcome.
